Guest sentiment
A snapshot of what local diners frequently mention about this location.
"Restaurant by the roadside, but with easy parking. Unpretentious but pleasant and very clean dining room. Quick service. Very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent typical Alentejo food, with special mention for the codfish stew and the house specialty, roasted pork leg. As a starter, some good olives accompanied by excellent Alentejo bread. To finish, a good biscuit cake. Very affordable price. Highly recommend. For me, it will become a mandatory stop."
"Clean place, friendly staff, fast service, reasonable price, free parking right next door"
"Great food. Good service. Typical and traditional space. Rustic and welcoming room."
"We had coffee and pastries... excellent parking on site!"
"Several times on my way to the Algarve I stopped to eat the ham sandwiches, which I had previously noted were excellent due to the quality of the ham and sometimes made with cheaper bread (even more to my liking). This last time, on the return trip, I had some grilled pork chops for lunch, which were excellent and a generous portion. It was a shame they didn't have lemon to season the chops. We had lunch for two people for 23 euros, including a small jug of wine, iced tea, fruit, dessert, coffee, and water. I consider the price very reasonable and I appreciated the speed of the service."
"I had the pleasure of savoring a delicious lamb stew at the O Chaparral restaurant. The dish was very well prepared, with tender and juicy meat, accompanied by perfectly cooked potatoes and seasonings that enhanced the flavor in a balanced way. The presentation of the dish was also impeccable, served in a rustic bowl that maintained the tradition of Portuguese cuisine."
"A typical place. Truly Alentejo-style staff. Extremely friendly. 10-star food. Small but inviting space. Clean. Excellent. Every time I pass by I'll stop by because it's a very pleasant experience. I really enjoyed it. I highly recommend the experience."
"Welcome and well served in the simple Alentejo style... I ate an excellent roast pork leg, top quality... It has a small parking lot for cars and trucks and it's also easy to park on the side of the road "
"I recently dined at Café Restaurante O Chaparral and I must say, the food was absolutely exceptional. Each dish was expertly crafted, bursting with flavor, and beautifully presented, every bite was a delight for the taste buds. I can confidently give the food a solid five-star rating. While the service was generally good, there were a few instances where we experienced slight delays or had to wait longer than expected for our orders. However, the staff was friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable about the menu, earning them a respectable four-star rating for their efforts. As for the atmosphere, while the decor was pleasant and the ambiance cozy, it lacked a certain wow factor that could elevate the dining experience. Nonetheless, it provided a comfortable setting for enjoying the delectable cuisine. Therefore, I would rate the atmosphere a three out of five stars."
